Housing Clinic Legal Consultation

Housed in the office of the Magistrate Clerk, the Housing Court Assistance Center ( HCAC ) is a free legal clinic that helps tenants understand their rights under Georgia law. Participants consult with an attorney who explains the procedure and the tenant's legal options and provides appropriate referrals.

Family Law Legal Consultation

Family law consultation sessions can be used to discuss issues relating to your legal case involving divorce, child custody, child support, legitimation, child support modification, and other family-related matters. The Justice Resource Center uses contract attorneys to facilitate these sessions.

After submitting your request to meet with a family law attorney, you will receive a response through an e-mail from the Justice Resource Center staff within two business days. Further details about your request will be provided in the e-mail as well. Senior Legal Services Consultation

Senior legal services consultation sessions can be used to discuss issues related to probate, Medicaid, public benefits, nursing home resident’s rights, last wills, financial power of attorney, advance directive for healthcare and other senior legal related matters.

After submitting your request to meet with a senior legal services attorney, you will receive a response through an e-mail or telephone call from the Justice Resource Center staff within two business days. Schedule an Appointment to Visit the Justice Resource Center (JRC)

The Safety of our staff and patrons are a top priority. In light of the Covid-19 situation, we are taking precautions. The JRC will allow visits by appointment only. Individuals who wish to visit the JRC must complete and submit an on-line form to Request an Appointment. After completing and submitting the online form, a Justice Resource Center staff member will contact you to discuss dates and times available for you to visit the Justice Resource Center.

During Covid-19, ALL visits to the Justice Resource Center will be limited to a maximum of one hour. Patrons have the opportunity to request additional appointments on different dates and times by completing another online request form.

Patrons will be required to wear a mask and practice physical distancing the entire time they are in the Justice Resource Center. Patrons who refuse to wear a mask or practice the physical distancing guidelines will not be allowed to enter or remain in the Justice Resource Center. Patrons who take their masks off or stop following the physical distancing guidelines while in the Justice Resource Center will be requested to leave immediately.
